This is where I'll post updates as I make progress. Starting the movie is going to be a birthday present to myself. My birthday is February 9.

Who am I? I'm CAROLYN BANKS, a writer. All kinds of writing: journalism, fiction, essays, scripts. With SWIMMING SKINNY, I'm taking the big plunge, because movie-making isn't cheap!

Do I have any experience? Some. With shorts. I've produced a bunch of them, written and directed a couple. I don't necessarily feel ready, but I'm 66 years old, so, if not now, when? How will I finance this movie? In part with money I've been saving to redo the bathroom. And in part with royalties from the sales of some of the books that AMBER QUILL PRESS has been reprinting. Of all the books listed there, my favorite is THE TURTLE'S VOICE. But the others are fun, too. Mostly I like the people who inhabit the books.
